An intergenerational Board of Directors is the governing body of VYC.

VYC Mission:
The Vashon Youth Council is a community-supported, intergenerational force that provides the resources and opportunities for Vashon youth to manifest their dreams through learning, mentorship, and empowerment.
VYC Vision:
Our vision is of an Island where all youth believe that they can create the world they wish to have and where they have access to the support and resources to make that world come true. We also envision a community that believes in and supports young people’s right to self expression and values youths’ input and takes it seriously.
VYC Programs:
In addition our intergenerational Board of Directors we inspire and invest in youth ages 14-20 through several avenues; youth-initiated projects which are generated from the ideas of young people and led by youth, adult initiated projects which involve youth and VYC initiated programs which are for youth and led by youth. Our Thanks to the Lavender Tour
This year's Lavender Tour's proceeds were donated to VYC. Merrilee Runyan and Cindy Johnson of Foxfarm Lavender hand a check for $3,500 to VYC's board members and staff!
